BIAPWS


The British and Irish Association for the Properties of Water and Steam (BIAPWS) exists to advance knowledge of the properties of water, steam and aqueous systems, particularly those of interest to industry:

• To make such knowledge generally available to engineers and scientists.
• To these ends, to encourage, stimulate and co-ordinate new research and its analysis.
• To participate in the preparation and international standardisation of statements of the properties of water, steam and aqueous systems, for industrial applications and for scientific and general use.
• To co-operate with appropriate international bodies.

The British and Irish Association for the Properties of Water and Steam (BIAPWS) is a voluntary, non-profit making, organisation affiliated to the International Association for the Properties of Water and Steam IAPWS. BIAPWS shares the IAPWS objective to advance the knowledge of the properties of water, steam and aqueous systems, particularly those of industrial importance. BIAPWS members are engaged in providing a link-interface between academics, engineering and other companies with interest in these properties. Through these links contributions to IAPWS products are made. Membership is drawn from universities, research institutes and industry. The Committee organises Symposia and provides 'neutral ground' for discussions on topics applicable to industrial users of water and steam.
